Renovatio River Estate is a private Wedding and Event venue located on the gentle Suikerbos River in Gauteng located a short distance from Three Rivers, Vereeniging, Meyerton & the Vaal Dam and only 45 minutes from Johannesburg.
We specialise in creating memorable weddings from small intimate elopements to large family orientated weddings.
Our various venues are also ideal for private corporate functions, birthday parties, baby showers, kitchen teas or conferences
Our exclusive 15 hectare Wedding and Event venue is surrounded by lush green grass, shaded by tall Blue Gum trees and offers the same tranquility of our slow running fountain while set in the surrounds of a typical South African countryside.
Renovatio’s history & heritage dates back to the 1800’s and is home to the original sandstone Uitvlugt farmhouse built over 100 years ago in 1883 (around the same time when Vereeniging was newly established as a mining town).
Having being restored to its former glory, the Farmhouse, Chapel and parts of the Renovatio Banqueting Hall features the original sandstone structures as they were built in 1883 – hence the name
RENOVATIO, a classical Latin word for renew, revive or restore.
Our Venues
The Sandstone Chapel
An intimate chapel featuring original sand stones that date back to 1883.
The White Aviary Venue
A white Cape winelands themed venue with a domed-shaped roof, ideal for both a wedding ceremony or a wedding reception.
The Banqueting Hall
A large cozy double volume thatch roofed venue with an adjacent sandstone Buffet Hall.
The Century Tree
A 100 year old Blue Gum tree, a popular spot for cocktails and canapes or an outdoor summer wedding ceremony.
The 1883 Bridal Suite
A plush Bridal Suite with a large sand stone en-suite bathroom, an adjacent lounge area and an outside sandstone courtyard.
The River Estate
15 hectares of space including a riverfront with Willow Trees and a perfect view of the remains of the old bridge built in the 1900’s.

We offer both packaged all-inclusive packages with flowers, decor, catering, beverages and more included, as well as a do-it-yourself package where we provide the venue, catering and bar and you provide the rest.

History & Heritage
It has been rumoured that Uitvlugt, the area where Renovatio River Estate is located, was named by a family who fled the Johannesburg area to escape the Anglo-Boer war and who settled in the area due to the fresh water flowing from the Suikerbos River. Uitvlugt is a Dutch word meaning ‘to flee’ or ‘fled’.
